Workshop – Saturday 13 November 2010 Thinking Skills
Speaker: Katherine Coleman, recently retired from Combe Bank School
We all want to help children learn. One way to enhance learning is by encouraging children to ask better questions and to be more thoughtful. This can be done by providing challenges and activities that promote questioning, thinking and discussion.
This workshop will be a ‘hands-on’ morning using materials designed to do this and will explore how these ideas and principles can be used by parents and teachers at home and at school.

Dyslexic Adults – coping in the world of work a talk by Mike Sharpe
Mike Sharpe has been involved with adult and post-16 learners in Further Education in Ashford since 2006. He will focus on the recognition of dyslexic tendencies in adult life, the assessment of dyslexia, and the practical reasonable adjustments which both workers and employers can make.
